We came out yesterday to the Unite Women rally in Upper Senate Park. It was a gray day, but we made it with only a few sprinkles. The organizers were able to round up some amazing speakers and of course, feminists make the cleverest signs!
We kicked things off with former Michigan Governor and War Room host Jennifer Granholm. For some reason she reminded me of Jessica Weiss descending in her helicopter in Citizen Ruth.
Soraya Chemaly, a blogger for the Huffington Post, read part of her post about the rally.
Alethea Smith-Withers of the Reproductive Coalition for Reproductive Choice.
Other speakers were from Catholics for Choice, the Center for Inquiry, Catholic University Students for Choice (banned on campus!), the Center for Reproductive Rights, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and the National Center for Transgender Equality.
